Connecting external devices

ANY-maze includes the ability to detect such things as micro-switch closures, photo-beam breaks and lever presses, and can control devices like lamps, shockers, pumps, buzzers, etc.



 

Input/Output devices

In order for ANY-maze to detect a photo-beam break, or turn a shocker on or off, the equipment obviously needs to be physically connected to your computer. These connections are made using what's called an input/output device and ANY-maze supports a number of them:

  • A low cost device which connects to the computer's serial port.

  • Some of the digitisers supported by ANY-maze include I/O ports.
  • The RTV-24 has 4 input and 4 output ports. An isolated I/O module is also available
  • Most devices in the Picolo series include I/O ports and an isolated I/O module is also available
